Just over 26 years ago, Neil Morrison founded Junair Spraybooths. Soon after Junair’s inception Neil, along with his Co Director Andy Tomlinson, installed the very first Junair spray booth at Robinwood Garage in the market town of Todmorden.
Robinwood Garage is a small business located in the grounds of the family home, backing onto the Pennine moorlands.
Neil Morrison, Managing Director, Junair Spraybooths commented. “I can still remember the setting of Robinwood garage, it was a small holding consisting of chickens, ducks and an energetic Rottweiler, not the traditional setting for a Bodyshop.”
Andy Tomlinson, Technical Director reminisced “It was the first Junair booth we’d designed, manufactured and installed. I remember Dave telling us that the 1990 film ‘Oranges are not the only fruit’ was filmed down the road from his garage. He was offered a substantial sum of money to close the bodyshop for the duration of the filming, Dave made more money that week than he would have if the bodyshop had been open!!!”
Andy Tomlinson added. “It was a welcome ‘blast from the past’ when Dave contacted me the other day, and I’m pleased to hear that the first ever Junair booth is still in use daily.”
Dave Garbutt, Founder, Robinwood Garage, commented “It’s still going strong a quarter of a century later, I’ve definitely got my money’s worth from the spraybooth equipment. Junair booths are clearly built to last.”
Thousands of spraybooths later, branching out in to other industries and also including ancillary equipment into the product mix, it’s not hard to see why the Junair name is synonymous with quality and innovation in the spraybooth industry.
