Junair Spray Booths have just successfully finished a complete re-design of Motofix High Wycombe. The work included changing old Spraybake indirect fired plants on the two existing booths for new direct gas fired Junair plants with Junair’s “QADS ECO active” energy saving systems.
Junair left the existing booths in situ and removed the old plants over one weekend each, as requested by Motofix, to ensure that no downtime was experienced. When the booths were re-commissioned, Junair set about the redesign of the whole bodyshop facility. One block work dividing wall was demolished, and electric supplies, compressed air and dust extraction were re-positioned. Two new low rise scissor lifts were installed too so the strip/fit operatives could keep up with the increased throughput from the new booth’s capacities. Finally, the jigs were repositioned to improve workflow.
The end result was exactly what Motofix and the owner Richard Tutt wanted and expected, which was 6 additional work bays and a workshop which enables the manager to now see every bay.
Owner Richard Tutt said: “I am really impressed with the design and effort from Junair. The end result has exceeded my hopes – more bays, better workflow and though the Booths are not new, the key part, the plants are new, and my overall running costs are more than halved on the Booths and with minimal disruption which, in these tight times, is a major consideration. My staff are also happier so a great result all round”
