AK Bodyshop was founded in 2006 by owners Andy and Lisa Kirk to undertake accident repairs, paintless dent removal, SMART repairs, plastic welding and part & full resprays for all vehicle makes and models. At the time of opening AK Bodyshop were repairing around 10 vehicles a week, in 2008 they decided to purchase their first spray booth which was a Junair Colourbox spray booth fitted with Junair’s QADs which is an advanced auxiliary air movement system proven to speed up paint drying times.
Andy Kirk, Owner at AK Bodyshop comments “Our business has grown significantly since we installed our first spray booth in 2008, this growth has been down to a substantial increase in the volume of fleet repairs. Last year it quickly became apparent that we had outgrown our previous bodyshop, therefore after much deliberation we decided to invest to relocate to a much bigger premises which was also in a more central location. When we decided to move premises we made the decision to relocate the Junair Colourbox spray booth as the spray booth had never let us down and still looked as new as the day it was installed. In order to handle the increased number of repairs it was apparent we required a second spray booth for the bodyshop, we again turned to Junair Spraybooths for the design, manufacture and installation.”
The installation saw AK Bodyshop opt again to install Junair’s QADs to their new spray booth. Andy adds “Our first Junair spray booth was fitted with QADs which dramatically speeds up our drying process allowing us to get more cars repaired, not only that this technology also reduces our energy consumption which saves us thousands of pounds a year. Therefore when we purchased the latest spray booth the first additional feature we opted for was QADs. In fact I don’t think I would buy a spray booth again without them.”

We now have a bodyshop which is capable of undertaking all types of vehicle repairs.”
